Petty Insults
So, since we're getting laid off, they told us to go ahead and take our Paid-Time-Off hours, since those will disappear here in a week. I wasn't there long enough (a year) to earn my two-weeks of vacation time, which you get paid for after you're booted. So, I scheduled some short days this last, full week of work.
My manager calls me in and gives me a heads-up yesterday, the first of my short days. He says, by the way, do you know how these work?
I think I do.
Well, it's not like real paid time off... as the name might imply. You actually have to pay a portion of your wages to take the time off. So, you're essentially paying us for a free day. Do you still want to take the hours?
Hmm... Yeah, this sucks.
